Former Vice President Joe Biden maintains a double-digit lead over President Donald Trump in a new poll which gives him only a four-point lead over primary rival Elizabeth Warren.

As in other surveys, Biden runs up a bigger margin over Trump than other Democrats – a facet of the former vice president's 'electability' message.

Biden leads Trump 54 to 42 per cent in the poll, about the same as a month ago, when he led by 13 points.

Warren leads Trump by a smaller 49 to 46 per cent margin, as does Sen. Kamala Harris of California, according to the IBD/TIPP poll released Tuesday.
